HOBOmobile® App for HOBO MX Data Loggers
Support has ended for HOBOmobile. Although current users can continue to work with previously installed versions of HOBOmobile, the app is no longer receiving security patches or updates and is no longer available for new installations. We strongly recommend that all current HOBOmobile users transition to HOBOconnect. Please see FAQs at the bottom of this page to learn more.
Overview
The HOBOmobile app, a free download from the iTunes or Google Play app store, made it a snap to configure MX Series data loggers and manage the collected data. Right from a mobile phone or tablet, users could view data in graphs, check the operational status of loggers, share data files and graph images for analysis in Excel, Numbers, and other applications, and store data in the cloud. HOBOmobile also made it fast and easy to set up audible alarm notifications so users were immediately notified of problems.
- Communicate to HOBO MX data loggers using Bluetooth (LE) technology

- Automatically upload data to Onset’s HOBOlink service for storing and merging data files

How Does the End of HOBOmobile Support Impact Me?
Onset is encouraging all HOBO MX data logger users to transition to HOBOconnect for an enhanced, unified customer experience. HOBOconnect provides all core HOBOmobile functionality, plus added features, such as support for Windows and the ability to download data from as many as 20 loggers at once.
While we strongly recommend that you switch to HOBOconnect as soon as possible, you can continue using previously installed versions of HOBOmobile. It’s important to note, however, that HOBOmobile will no longer receive security patches or updates, and new installations of HOBOmobile are not available.
Yes, all existing files will continue to be available in HOBOmobile. Once the app is uninstalled from your device, however, you will not be able to recover files. Therefore, we recommend that you first export all wanted files to an external location, such as a shared drive or your cloud storage provider.
No, HOBOconnect works seamlessly with all HOBO MX Bluetooth loggers, so there is no need to relaunch or reconfigure when switching to HOBOconnect.
