U30 factory default instructions

TechNote Onset®

Data logger is shutting off prematurely

A discharge of static electricity may cause a running data logger to stop recording. Precautions should be taken to prevent this while handling the data logger. Discharges may occur when there is a charge difference between the data logger and a cable being connected to it or when a person touches an exposed jack.

U30 and excitation wiring with S-VIA-CM14 modules

Here is a wiring diagram for use with external sensors and the S-VIA-CM14s. Remember the excitation current required to power the external sensors cannot exceed 50 milliamps total. http://www.onsetcomp.com/files/U30%20VIA%20and%20S_VIA_CM14.JPG

Smart sensor cable fix

Problem: My smart sensor data shows a -888.888 for a good portion of the data file. Note: -888.888 means that the logger could not find the smart sensor after the logger was launched successfully.

Verifying RH accuracy on HOBO data loggers

Testing the accuracy of relative humidity sensors requires carefully-controlled conditions and a considerable amount of time. Please see the white paper Testing the Accuracy of Sensirion Relative Humidity Sensors in HOBO Data Loggers for complete details on the recommended procedure to follow.

RX3000 & U30 Networking, Firewall Problems

Network firewall difficulty: The network interface controller (NIC) in the HOBO RX3000 and U30-ETH and WIF will attempt to make a connection to the numerical IP address 208.85.146.151:54328 every "Readout Interval." Your firewall must allow the logger to connect to this IP address, and must also allow the MAC address of the logger NIC.
