Attached is a drawing that shows how to measure AC current through a line cord using the HOBO UX120-006M 4-channel Analog Input logger and a CTV-A current transformer.
Note: This drawing is provided as just an example of how the hot wire needs to be separated from the cord if current is to be monitored. Clamping the CT around the entire cord will not work.
Extreme care must be taken if separating the hot wire from a line cord and the cord should be placed in a protective housing as-shown in the drawing.
