It is possible to extend a tripod; however, the 1.5-meter mast (Part #M-MPB) cannot be used directly to extend a 2- or 3-meter tripod. Instead, you need to purchase or make a coupling device to join the two pipes together. One method is to use a slightly-larger-in-diameter piece of pipe, make one cut lengthwise, then insert the mast and the extension, and clamp. You may also need longer guy wire as well.
