This solution consists of Wind Monitor model 05103, purchased separately from R.M. Young, and an S-WCE-M003 adapter purchased from Onset.

Overview

The Wind Monitor is a high performance wind sensor that is compatible with Onset's line of research-grade weather stations, including the RX3000, U30-NRC, H21, and H22 systems. When paired with the S-WCE-M003 wind sensor adapter, it offers plug-and-play performance with Onset stations, eliminating the need for programming or complex wiring.

Rugged, corrosion-resistant construction makes the Wind Monitor ideal for a wide range of wind measuring applications.
The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller; the wind direction sensor is a rugged yet lightweight vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer. Constructed of UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum fittings, the sensor mounts on standard one-inch pipe.
