The optional MX2204 thermoplastic elastomer (Santoprene) boot provides cushioning for use in harsh conditions — offered in black to minimize underwater visibility, in white to minimize solar radiation absorption or grey. Five boots included.
The SDX is a “Wet-Wet” device. While it is important to keep the SDX cable’s vent tube unobstructed for barometric pressure compensation, neither the pressure transducer nor internal electronics are damaged by condensation or moisture entering the vent tube. For best results, we recommend the desiccant cartridge with vent tube adapter.
The external DC power cable (CABLE-RX-PWR) is used to connect a user-supplied power source to the HOBO RX3000 Monitoring Station to charge the station’s internal battery. The external power source can be an intermittent power source, such as a 6W or larger solar panel. The external power source must be able to supply 6W, but the average power used will be much less and depends on the number and type of sensors, logging interval, and the frequency of internet connections.
Sodium Sulfite solution (500 mL) is used for calibrating the HOBO Dissolved Oxygen Logger at 0% saturation, which is optional.
The Anti-fouling Protective Guard can be used in place of the standard protective guard for protection against fouling during deployment. The anti-fouling guard uses copper windings to reduce bio-fouling, while still allowing good water flow to the sensor.
