The HOBO RX3000, Onset’s most flexible remote data logging station, provides instant access to site-specific environmental data anywhere, anytime via the internet. This rugged weather station is Onset’s most durable outdoor environmental monitoring solution. Users can easily configure the HOBO U30-NRC Weather Station to fit their application needs. Use up to 15 channels to collect environmental data and then upload to HOBOware® software for analysis. HOBOware Pro is recommended for extended features, see the comparison here. The Wind Sensor Set includes Onset's research-grade plug-and-play Wind Speed Smart Sensor and the Wind Direction Smart Sensor. This combination provides average wind speed, highest 3-second wind gust, and average wind direction for the measurement interval. These durable sensors will provide many years of accurate and reliable performance.
NOTE: Mount these on the M-CAA Full Cross Arm for proper sensor spacing for accurate wind measurement in all wind directions.
The cross arm must be mounted on a stable mast, using guy wires as needed to prevent the sensors from vibrating in high winds.
Measure wind speed from 0 to 76 m/s (0 to 170 mph). This smart sensor provides data reporting average wind speed and highest 3 second gust for each logging interval. The starting threshold is 1 m/s (2.2 mph); sensor survives through 170 mph. This model comes with a 3m cable.
The Wind Direction Smart Sensor is a research-grade plug-and-play sensor for measuring and logging wind data. It provides average wind direction for the measurement interval. This highly-durable wind vane has a drip overhang for anti-icing. Its shielded stainless-steel ball bearings and static-dissipating housing provide a long sensor life. The sensor calculates a unit vector average of the wind direction, providing data directly in degrees.
The S-WCB-M003 adapter connects the R.M. Young Wind Monitor-AQ Sensor (model 05305) with Onset's line of research-grade weather stations, including the HOBO U30 Remote Monitoring System, H21, and H22 weather station and energy monitoring systems. The R.M. Young 05305 Wind Monitor-AQ meets EPA guidelines for air quality measurements - 0.4 mph accuracy; 0.9 mph starting thresholds; for winds up to 112 mph.
