BOURNE, MA, July 30, 2008 — Onset Computer Corporation, the "HOBO" data logger company, today announced a new Barometric Pressure Smart Sensor for use with the company’s HOBO U30 Remote Monitoring System and HOBO Weather Station products.
Ideal for meteorologists, ecologists and others, the new sensor provides a number of key features, including:
- Weatherproof housing - enables the sensor to be mounted outside of the weather station enclosure. This means that the station can maintain its weatherproof seal without having to be vented to the atmosphere.
- Smart Sensor design enables the sensor to be plugged into HOBO U30 Remote Monitoring System and weather station products and be automatically recognized without complicated wiring, programming, or calibration requirements.
- Measures barometric pressure over a broad range of 660 mb to 1,070 mb
The new Barometric Pressure Smart Sensor works with Onset’s full line of HOBO U30 and weather station products. These systems can be configured to measure the user’s choice of a wide range of parameters including, temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, soil moisture, wind speed and direction, leaf wetness, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), and solar radiation.
