Summary
The goal of the System Test Engineer shall be to develop, implement, and execute tests based on standards, user requirements, end-user scenarios, and design specifications to ensure the highest level of quality possible for a product release.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans for multiple project types (embedded, wireless, web, mobile)
- Design and execute test cases based on standards, user requirements, end-user scenarios, and design specifications, focusing on scripted and automated test processes
- Validate proper design and operation of new products, including, but not limited to, formal DVT testing of the firmware
- Troubleshoot device problems that ay occur in the firmware and software
- Analyze test failures and problems; provide clear and concise defect reports to the responsible engineers in a timely manner and assist in additional defect characterization as needed to resolve the issues
- Submit and review defects using department's bug-tracking system(s)
- Participate in project planning and design discussions as a member of a cross-functional team
- Work with peers to achieve project, personal, and team goals
- Maintain and enhance job-related skills by self-teaching or participating in appropriate training and development programs

Education/Experience
- 3 to 5 years of testing experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering technology, or equivalent
- Experience with bug tracking, test-results recording, and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum development processes
- Good programming skills with Python, Java, and/or C#
- Knowledge of test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking: routing, switching, and network standards desirable
- Familiarity with WiFi, Bluetooth, 802.11, serial, and USB desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows, MacOS, and iOS.
