Senior Quality & Lean Manager


The Senior Quality & Lean Manager will report to the VP of Operations and work with various site leaders. This position is responsible for establishing the vision, roadmap, and culture required to achieve “zero quality defects” and eliminate all other forms of waste through lean principles and a strong continuous improvement (CI) culture. This includes an end-to-end focus on lean and quality from our suppliers, through our manufacturing processes, and ultimately to our customers.


  • Promote a strong CI culture
  • Lead and organize customer, agency-driven audits
  • Assure the requirements of our ISO and other quality-management systems are maintained; includes quality reporting, corrective/preventive actions, internal auditing system, and customer-complaint tracking throughout the company
  • Perform statistical analysis/capability analysis using Six Sigma, DMAIC problem-solving, 8D problem-solving, or other similar methodologies
  • Establish and communicate the vision for utilizing lean principles and a CI culture to drive operational excellence
  • Work to develop and execute a roadmap to achieve our long-term lean and quality vision, as well as our short- and medium-term goals and objectives
  • Work with company leaders to analyze data, identify areas of opportunity, and implement Kaizen activities or corrective actions to address problem areas/opportunities
  • Evaluate our organizational structure and recommend improvements to best utilize our lean/CI and quality resources
  • Work with the various company leaders to drive the use of standardized lean and quality tools, share best practices, and benchmark world-class companies to achieve a higher level of operational excellence
  • Coordinate activities related to addressing major customer quality issues; communicate problem resolution to customers and senior management, as required, in a timely manner
  • Contribute to annual budgetary process and take responsibility for quality department budgetary compliance
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events in support of our goals


  • Bachelor’s degree  in a discipline related to Operations or Engineering
  • Ten to 15 years of experience in progressively-responsible lean- and quality-related positions and a minimum five years of experience in a senior level lean and/or quality leadership role; experience in both a “make to stock” and “make to order” discrete production and assembly is required
  • CQE, CQM, and/or Black Belt in Lean or Six Sigma preferred
  • Required to travel 5% to 10%


  • Proven record of accomplishment in electronic manufacturing environments of leading the lean/quality efforts for major businesses/corporations, with demonstrated tangible improved results that positively influenced business efficiencies and costs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions; must have demonstrated statistical analysis capabilities
  • Must have experience leading Kaizen events and training teams on lean principles
