Senior Quality Engineer


The Senior Quality Engineer will develop, apply, improve, and maintain quality requirements and standards via key processes, from receipt and incoming inspection of supplied components and assemblies through manufacturing and shipment of product.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, and documentation
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality management system that result in improved quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs
  • Support certification to ISO9001 and ISO17025 with a focus on improving the Operations Quality System; maintain the integrity of and compliance with the certified quality systems
  • Keep current with the status of project-related tasks at the supplier, and track supplier performance metrics
  • Effectively use problem-solving and quality-improvement tools and techniques; work with other engineers involved at the manufacturing level to ensure product quality and participate in the Continuous Improvement (CI) program
  • Lead CI teams and other activities to determine actions to improve the quality system and reduce the cost of quality

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering; manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering preferred
  • 5+ plus years of work experience as Quality Engineer within a manufacturing facility managing a certified quality management system (e.g. ISO9001, TS16949, ISO13485)
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) a plus
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to apply Six Sigma principles; Six Sigma/Black/Green Belt Certification a plus, ISO17025 knowledge a plus
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with quality software applications for statistical analysis; Minitab a plus
