Quality Source Inspector – Second Shift (Mon-Thu 2-11PM, Fri 2-8PM)

Summary

The Quality Source Inspector ensures product reliability, while supporting Onset's LEAN initiative using the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) model for Continuous Improvement and maintaining Onset's quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of supplied parts by conducting visual inspections and measurement tests for identified incoming material to determine conformance to specified requirements
  • Document inspection results and disposition materials using various modules within ERP System (SyteLine QCS module)
  • Identify non-conforming material
  • Utilize ERP System to Record Tests/Defects
  • Disposition QC Receivers, perform Job Transactions, and generate MRRs/CARs
  • Use measurement equipment; including calipers, magnifiers, and go/no-go gages
  • Promote teamwork and quality awareness; work cross functionally to understand and resolve quality issues
  • Work with Purchasing to issue Corrective Action Requests to suppliers and manage to an effective resolution and timely closure
  • Work with Engineering to establish appropriate tests for newly-\ introduced supplied parts, and to resolve drawing discrepancies when identified
  • Support Production in resolving nonconforming issues detected for product supplied

Education/Experience

  • Certified Quality Inspector or equivalent qualifications
  • Supplier development experience, including MRB and corrective action activities
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate good judgement
  • Understanding and application of IPC-A-600, acceptability of Printed Boards, understanding of quality standards and inspection procedures
  • Proficient in ERP (SyteLine) modules used to Record Tests/Defects, disposition QC receivers, perform job transactions, generate MRRs and CARs
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and Part Location Drawings (PLDs)
  • Ability to utilize measurement equipment including calipers, magnifiers, electrical test equipment, and mechanical inspection gages
  • Time-management skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language
