Quality Control Electronics Technician


Onset is seeking an exceptional Quality Control Electronics Technician to join our Quality Team. This person will perform root cause analysis (RCA) on RMAs and perform highly accelerated temperature and humidity stress testing (HAST) when needed. This is a 100% onsite position.

Duties and Responsbilities

  • Investigate quality and/or design issues and make recommendations to the appropriate department for resolution
  • Perform failure analysis on RMAs down to the component level to determine the root cause
  • Record, summarize, and communicate RCA, including the type and quantity of defect to quality and engineering for further investigation and preventative action purposes
  • Connect electronic assembly, component, or part to test instruments, such as DMMs, DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, and environmental chambers
  • Repair printed circuit boards or electronic subassemblies to the component level
  • Examine assembly, component, or part for defects

Other duties as required


  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or military training with 1-2 years of experience conducting root cause analysis
  • Soldering certification, IPC-A-610 (preferred, but not required)
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical skills preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to use MS office suite and learn software programs specific to Onset
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Energetic, with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to reliably work independently
