Starting and finishing at the Falmouth Village Green, the course wound along the Falmouth, Massachusetts coastline.
The Onset team consisted of:
- Justin Payne
- Dale Davis
- Mary Jo Abbot
- Rui Rosario
- Liam Greene-Beaupre
Dave Sherman, the team organizer, shared this race report:
“The team ran a relay-style marathon, with Liam starting the race. This was his first race - 3.63 miles not on a treadmill! Dale Davis, our off-road-through-the-woods-running scout took the first handoff for a 5.65 mile run, followed by veteran Mary Jo for 4.72 miles, who upped her game this year with a longer relay leg. She then passed the baton off to Justin Payne, who ran a 5.51 mile leg. He put forth a great effort for his first long-distance run since his high school days. He handed the baton off to Rui Rosario for the final 6.7 mile leg, which included windswept rain, howling winds, and near-blinding beach sand. Rui finished the race to a standing ovation at the finish-line, where he was met by his teammates; some hot soup and cider doughnuts; and, of course, the finishers' medals. Every team member pushed through hard winds and wet weather and did a great job! They deserve congratulations for their achievement.”
Special thanks and recognition to Dave Sherman, who organized the team, Lou Eisenman, who designed the team's shirts, team supporter Robert Perry, and Laurie Colwell, who supported the Onset team sponsorship in the marathon, and generally promotes positive health and wellness activities by Onset employees.
