The HOBO MX2501 can be deployed in several ways.
- The lanyard loop at the top of the device can be used for hanging the logger. Because it is negatively buoyant in both freshwater and saltwater, the logger will hang with the electrode/sensing end toward the sediment, unless there is a strong current.
- The two grooves on the body of the logger can be used to connect it with cable ties to rebar, a post, etc.
- In turbulent water or water with debris, it would be prudent to protect the glass bulb of the electrode by deploying the logger in PVC pipes with holes drilled in them.
