TT8 Squishy Bus conversion
Connect to the TT8v2 with extended sockets because of the height of the legacy A1 and B1 0.1" pitch sockets. Our PR-8v2 proto board uses an elevated socket connector (required because of the height of the "legacy" A1 and B1 connectors) from Samtec. Additional height may be required if you mount other components on your mating board.
Our socket connectors as used on the new PR-8v2 prototyping board are:
Samtec part# ESQT-127-03-G-S-350 27 position single row extended 2mm pitch SQtail socket
(Onset part # 05SQPSE.2-1x27 $7.38 each) and
Samtec part# ESQT-128-03-G-S-350 28 position single row extended 2mm pitch SQtail socket
(Onset part # 05SQPSE.2-1x28 $7.63 each)
Both with the .51microns of Gold flashed onto the square posts
Two of each would create a complete connector assembly set for your mating board. The last three digits of the Samtec connector indicate the height of the elevated socket in inches. The elevated sockets used in PR-8v2 proto board will yield a nominal 0.350-inch distance between boards. You could use the longest elevated sockets on your interfacing board and set the height yourself, then trim the excess. Samtec and other manufacturers can supply elevated sockets at various heights. Useful Samtec elevated sockets range from .350" to .790": Samtec can make them in .005" increments. You lose the visual confirmation of proper orientation to interfacing boards if using 28-position double row extended 2mm SQtail sockets.
Alternate mounting:
You can flip the Tattletale over utilizing the 2 mm sockets on the TT8v2. Then use 2 mm square posts on your interfacing board, however you would preclude using a Persistor PCF-8v2i, this alternate mounting configuration would make pressing the reset button awkward and seeing the LED nearly impossible.
