Firmware Updates

Who needs this update:

1. Anyone who uses the U14 data loggers.

2. U-Shuttle Shuttle owners with shuttles purchased before December 10, 2007 and serial numbers less than 1225794. This firmware version 1.09, optimizes battery performance during sleep mode. It also allows the unit to communicate with the HOBO Pendant G (UA-004-64) logger.

Obtaining the update:

1. Download the binary file (U-Shuttle FW v1.09m030.bin) to your computer and save the file to disk.This update is not platform-specific.
2. Launch HOBOware Pro (PC or Mac) if it is not yet running. Note that HOBOware Pro is necessary to perform the update*.
3. Connect your U-Shuttle to your computer and turn on the U-Shuttle.
4. From the Help menu, choose "Update U-Shuttle Firmware..." and follow the instructions. During the update process, you will be asked for the location of the file you downloaded in Step 1.
5. Relaunch the U-Shuttle from HOBOware Pro.

*HOBOware Pro is available as a free update to licensed owners of HOBOware 2.1 and above. Please use the Check for Updates function on HOBOware.

Who needs this update:

Waterproof Shuttle owners with shuttles purchased before November 21, 2006 and serial numbers less than 1077652. This update will install firmware version 3.05, which makes the following cumulative changes:

1. Fixes an USB enumberatin bug that exists in version 3.03
2. Allows the unit to work with the HOBO Pendant G (UA-004-64) logger
3. Adds base-station support for the TidbiT v2 (UTBI-001) with firmware version 1.07

Obtaining the update:

1. Download the compressed file (Shuttle_boot_utilities_v305_release.exe) to a Windows PC* and save the file to disk.
2. Open the saved self-extracting file and read the "READ ME" for detailed instructions for updating your shuttle.

* At this time Onset does not provide a mechanism for updating the HOBO Waterproof Shuttle via a Macintosh computer. It is necessary to use a Windows PC to install this update. We apologize to our Macintosh customers.
