Which soil moisture sensor should I use?

A-1: Choose the S-SMC-M005 (EC-5) for general-purpose soil moisture measurements:

* For precise measurement of soil moisture at multiple depths
* For easiest installation (shorter probes and narrower)
* Soil moisture measurements near the surface (can be within 3 cm versus 10 cm for 10HS)
* Use in greenhouses, pots and small containers

A-2: Choose the S-SMD-M005 (10HS) whenever a large volume of influence is desired:

* To get the best picture of the overall soil moisture in an area
* Soils with varied content (such as soils with stones, or top-soil over sub-soil)
* Irrigated areas where there could be non-uniform watering
