What is the precision of the H8 loggers?
What is the precision of the H8 loggers?
faqid:
103
The H8 series loggers measure analog voltages with an 8-bit A/D
convertor, therefore any sensor's input will have not more than its range
divided by 256 values. For linear inputs, like a raw voltage input, the value
for each step is equal. For nonlinear inputs, like temperature, the values of
the steps are not equal. For instance, with the built-in temperature sensor on
H08-001 through 004, the step value at 70° is 0.7°, while at about 175°, the step value is 2°.
This step value is specified in our literature using the term "resolution."
