What are the issues for using the U12 logger in washing machines, dryers, or other tumbling environments?
Repetitive, high-impact mechanical shock encountered in some environments (e.g., washing machines, dryers, or other tumbling environments) can cause the logger battery to become detached from the logger electronics, thereby causing logger failure. It may be possible to retrieve data that was logged prior to this type of failure. Contact Onset or your place of purchase for details.
When used in environments with repetitive motions causing high-impact mechanical shocks, the logger should be padded with a material that is thermally conductive and thermally appropriate for the environment. Alternatively, or in addition, the logger may be securely mounted to a surface within the environment so as to avoid repetitive mechanical shocks.
