The Optic and TidbiT data loggers have an alarm function that you can enable while setting the launch parameters. The alarm, when selected, allows you to see if the StowAway data logger has recorded a temperature outside of a pre-selected range that you set at launch time.

If the Optic Temperature Data Logger records a temperature that is outside (higher or lower) of the pre-selected range, the red LED will continue to flash for the duration of deployment. The data logger is still collecting data; the red LED is just letting you know that a temperature outside of the pre-selected range has been recorded.
