My battery level seems to be going down quickly, what could be causing this?
Check both the logging and the sampling interval to make sure they are greater than one-minute intervals. For example, with a sampling interval of one second, the HOBO Weather Station doesn't sleep and there is a constant drain to the batteries. Make sure that you have protected the board from condensation and insects.
Micro Station Users: Check the desiccant pack to see if it is still able to absorb moisture. The desiccant pack that ships with the Micro Station is color coded and will be blue when it is still good, pink when it needs to be reconditioned or replaced. Please refer to the Maintenance Section of the Micro Station Manual for further information on this.
Weather Station Users: Make sure that the station was set up properly with a 2 inch drip loop of cable below the data logger, and be sure that the duct seal fills the void between the cables and the data logger housing. The duct seal should flare out on the inside of the case to lock it in place.
Please read the Field Set Up and Maintenance Section of the HOBO Weather Station Manual for further information on this.
