Hurricane Gustav
UPS has restored pickup and delivery service to most geographic areas touched by Hurricane Gustav. No facilities or delivery vehicles suffered any substantial damage from the storm.
There are a few areas where full service has not resumed, notably around New Orleans. Many businesses and residences remain unoccupied due to evacuations, and some areas are still without power. The local government is now allowing people to return to the area, and UPS plans to restore full service to and from New Orleans on Monday, September 8.
The following UPS centers remain closed: Earhart, Harvey, New Orleans, Houma.
We appreciate your patience. If you plan to send a shipment to the affected areas, UPS recommends contacting your recipient to make sure they are available to accept the package.
UPS is also tracking several other storms off the Atlantic coast, including Tropical Storm Hanna and Hurricane Ike. We will provide further updates if service is affected.
