Davis® Wind Speed/Direction Smart Sensors are compatible with all HOBO weather station loggers, HOBOware, and HOBOlink. They offer the same ease-of-use as existing Onset Smart Sensors, providing cost-effective HOBO weather stations for projects on a tight budget. The U30/NRC accepts up to 10 plug-and-play Smart Sensors. Just plug in your sensor and it’s automatically recognized – no programming, wiring or calibration necessary. With this kit you can measure temperature, relative humidity, wind speed/direction. Simply select the HOBO Weather Station starter system and your choice of either a 2-Meter or 3-Meter Tripod Kit and go!

Measure wind speed from 0 to 76 m/s (0 to 170 mph). This smart sensor provides data reporting average wind speed and highest 3 second gust for each logging interval. The starting threshold is 1 m/s (2.2 mph); sensor survives through 170 mph. This model comes with a 3m cable.
The Wind Sensor Set includes Onset's research-grade plug-and-play Wind Speed Smart Sensor and the Wind Direction Smart Sensor. This combination provides average wind speed, highest 3-second wind gust, and average wind direction for the measurement interval. These durable sensors will provide many years of accurate and reliable performance.
NOTE: Mount these on the M-CAA Full Cross Arm for proper sensor spacing for accurate wind measurement in all wind directions.
The cross arm must be mounted on a stable mast using guy wires as needed to prevent the sensors from vibrating in high winds.
The HOBO RX3000 is Onset’s next-generation remote data logging station that provides instant access to site-specific environmental data anywhere, anytime via the internet. The new station combines the flexibility and sensor quality of more expensive systems, an onboard LCD display, and the convenience of plug-and-play operation. The RX3000 has three configurable systems, that can be configured below, that consist of the following part numbers: RX3001-00-01, RX3002-00-01, and RX3003-00-01.
The Wind Direction Smart Sensor is a research-grade plug-and-play sensor for measuring and logging wind data. It provides average wind direction for the measurement interval. This highly-durable wind vane has a drip overhang for anti-icing. Its shielded stainless-steel ball bearings and static-dissipating housing provide a long sensor life. The sensor calculates a unit vector average of the wind direction, providing data directly in degrees.
The Wind Monitor is an accurate and reliable wind sensor specifically designed for the rigors of the marine environment, that is compatible with Onset's line of research-grade weather stations, including the RX3000, U30-NRC, H21, and H22 systems. When paired with the S-WCC-M003 wind sensor adapter, it offers plug-and-play performance with Onset stations, eliminating the need for programming or complex wiring.
The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Unique transducer produces a pulse signal without electrical contacts or slip rings. The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber. All materials are carefully selected for corrosion resistance and maximum durability in the harsh marine environment. Extremely durable ceramic bearings are used throughout. Stainless steel bearings are used throughout. Special waterproof lubricant further enhances reliability. The instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe.
