BOURNE, MA, November 22, 2005 — Onset Computer Corporation, a leading supplier of battery-powered data loggers for underwater monitoring applications, today announced a new titanium version of the company's HOBO® Water Level Logger.
Designed for recording water levels and temperature in salt water and other corrosive environments, the new Titanium HOBO Water Level Logger is suitable for a wide range of coastal monitoring applications, from estuary research to dock and pier siting. It provides 0.1% of full-scale accuracy with a 30-foot measurement range and better than 0.01-foot resolution. The titanium housing makes the logger impervious to corrosion that can occur with stainless-steel water level loggers. Other features include:
- Powerful, intuitive software: To analyze and plot water level data, Onset offers HOBOware®, a highly intuitive graphing and analysis software package. HOBOware provides a user-friendly graphical user interface, and offers a number of convenient features such as easy pressure-to-level conversion, and a Barometric Compensation Assistant, which compensates for barometric pressure changes.
- Convenient, connector-free data offload: The HOBO Water Level Logger offloads data to a computer via a convenient USB-based optical interface, which provides high-speed, reliable data offload in wet environments. Its optical design eliminates the need for failure-prone mechanical connectors found in many traditional water level logger products.
Unlike traditional water level loggers, which rely on cumbersome vent tubes and desiccant packs for operation, the new HOBO Water Level Logger operates as a stand-alone unit. This simplifies deployment and eliminates many of the maintenance issues associated with vent tube-based loggers.
