Account Development Manager - US


The Account Development Manager will focus on cultivating and growing key customers, as well as improving Onset’s position within identified target markets. This individual will also: lead the creation and implementation of sales initiatives aligned with company strategy to expand our market share; be responsible for driving new product introductions as a key component to new customer acquisition strategy; develop market intelligence and provide feedback to marketing and technology teams; and develop and foster relationships with key executives and strategic customers. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Onset's core products and utilize this knowledge to be successful within assigned responsibility
  • In conjunction with VP of Sales, create and execute a sales plan for key accounts that meets or exceeds established quotas and supports Onset's revenue targets
  • Optimize business development plan by working closely with Product Marketing to maximize time in the field and overall efficiency through development and prequalification of target market prospects
  • Meet regularly with key accounts and prospects to understand their evolving business needs and position product solutions to meet surfaced needs
  • Continuously expand customer and market understanding and use of Onset product solutions and capabilities
  • Build long-term, productive, and mutually-beneficial customer relationships
  • Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and prospects and be available and responsive to customers' real-time needs
  • Work effectively with the Marketing Department to promote sales and maximize Onset’s external visibility  
  • Attend conferences and professional association meetings to promote Onset products and brand

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or other relevant higher degree, plus:
    • Ability to quickly build relationships, gain consensus, rapidly establish credibility with, and gain confidence of others both in-person and on the phone
    • Knowledge of the data logger industry in the water, indoor, and outdoor markets
    • Working experience with supporting, initiating, and growing sales channels
    • Strong working knowledge of tools like Salesforce
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills
    • A self-motivated, personable, and charismatic personality that translates to working the floor of a trade show, approaching new contacts, making connections with ease, and using creativity to track down and secure new prospect meetings
    • Comfort with working independently, managing ambiguity, and working cross-funtionally
    • Willingness to travel to customers and events as required, approximately 50%
